The Tourism Accommodation Upgrade Project (TAUP) is a tourism incentive project that provides a reimbursable grant for approved upgrade work done to accommodation facilities in both Trinidad and in Tobago. TAUP comprises of two tourism incentive projects, namely:
- Upgrade of Small Approved Tourism Properties in Trinidad and Tobago for properties with 1 to 5 guest rooms
- The Trinidad and Tobago Hotel and Guesthouse Room Stock Upgrade Project for properties with 6 to 150 guest rooms

- Reimbursement up to (40%) of capital spent on upgrade per room,
- A limit of up to $25,000 per room in Trinidad and $30,000 per room in Tobago, and
- A limit of $150,000 of capital spent on the upgrade of their property.

- Be reimbursed up to fifty (50%) of capital spent on upgrade per room,
- A limit of up to $25,000 per room in Trinidad and $30,000 per room in Tobago, and
- A limit of $1,500,000 of capital spent on the upgrade of their property

Property owners are entitled to these reimbursable grants upon successful approval of an independent external auditor with responsibility for the project.

- Exterior/external walls;
- Common areas (corridors, restrooms);
- Guest bedrooms and bathrooms;
- Kitchens and Kitchenettes;
- Laundry facilities for Villas & Apartments. Parking Facilities
- Reception/Front Desk
- Swimming Pools
- Private Areas (Guestrooms- Balcony, Bathroom, Kitchenette, Balcony)
