International Online Travel Operators Visit T&T - Monday, September 5, 2016

Over 17 tour operators and online travel agents (OTA) from North America and the United Kingdom were in Trinidad and Tobago last week (October 09-14, 2016) to meet and interact with our local tourism and travel stakeholders so as to bring the destination closer to the massive international consumer base. The travel agents came from highly reputable companies such as Travel Advisor, Mot Mot Travel, Expedia, Booking.Com, Regatta Travel Solutions and Reef and Rainforest Tours.

Launch of Business Data Aspect of Tourism Survey - Monday, September 12, 2016

The Ministry of Tourism continued its data collection initiative with the recent launch of the business data component of the Tourism Baseline Survey project. The project is a key part of the Ministry’s efforts to establish primary indicators to determine the overall performance of the tourism sector and the effect of Ministry policy and programmes.

Minister of Tourism Shamfa Cudjoe underscored the need for the establishment of a database for key tourism statistics for various segments of the tourism industry. She stated that her Ministry’s intent is to ensure better planning and development of tourism policies and programs that are evidenced-based and established on market intelligence information.

Establishment of Blue Flag Marine Park - Monday, September 5, 2016

Thirty-five (35) students of the Hockett Baptist Primary School of Morvant got up close and personal with some of Trinidad and Tobago’s native marine animals at the Blue Flag Marine Park at Las Cuevas Beach on Friday April 29, 2016. Joining them at this initiative was the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, the Minister of Tourism, who expressed “great excitement that children were able to learn about our marine wildlife and proper handling techniques”.
