  • TRINIDAD & TOBAGO WINS AT CTO TRAVEL MEDIA AWARDS

    Port of Spain, Trinidad, June 03, 2016 - Trinidad and Tobago won awards at this year's Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) Travel  Media  Awards with journalists producing articles promoting travel to our twin island Republic earning two (2) of the top honours. The winners of the Media Awards were revealed at the exclusive Awards Luncheon during Caribbean Week celebrations today (Thursday June 02) at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York.

  • ESTABLISHMENT OF BLUE FLAG MARINE PARK

    Thirty five (35) students of the Hockett Baptist Primary School of Morvant got up close and personal with some of Trinidad and Tobago’s native marine animals at the Blue Flag Marine Park at Las Cuevas Beach on Friday April 29, 2016. Joining them at this initiative was the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe,the Minister of Tourism, who expressed “great excitement that children were able to learn about our marine wildlife and proper handling techniques”.

Securing T&T's Future In Tourism

On Wednesday January 11, 2017, the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, Minister of Tourism launched the Ministry of Tourism’s first ever Tourism Youth Club in Secondary Schools at the Radisson Hotel, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. The pilot school for this initiative will be the Manzanilla Secondary School, where the current Junior Minister of Tourism, La Quan Pearie is a student.

The Tourism Youth Club in Secondary Schools is an official project linked to the Junior Minister of Tourism competition and was initially proposed by the 2016 Junior Minister. Tourism clubs are targeted to students between the ages of twelve (12) and sixteen (16) and will provide an avenue for students to be actively involved in tourism and learn more about the industry, its careers and entrepreneurial opportunities.
